Audi MMI 2G hidden green menu can be used to change coding & adaptation of Module 07 – MMI 2G Control Head, enable some user interface features and tweak user experience. All that without diagnostic interface like VCDS.

  1. Dec 07, 2009  I have the same problem with the bootloader.tried version 2120, 3460, 4420, and 5150, and they all say missing HMI section in metainfo file. Anyone can tell me what to do, except for an audi visit? Can you give me some links to download older versions? Mine was 0350.

  3. Nov 25, 2014  Check your Multi Media Interface version. Check this article: Audi navigation systems – MMI RNS BNS RMC differences. Make sure that your Audi Multi Media Interface 2G software version is up to date. In some older versions you won’t have access to hidden green menu or it will have less options then described. Read article MMI 2G software.

Performing this procedure may cause permanent damage to your car.
When browsing the MMI 2G hidden green menu stay away from Bootloader options unless you know exactly what you’re doing.

Preparation

  • You car need to have MMI 2G system. Check your Multi Media Interface version.

  • Make sure that your Audi Multi Media Interface 2G software version is up to date. In some older versions you won’t have access to hidden green menu or it will have less options then described. Read article MMI 2G software update to version 5570.
  • Hidden menu must be enabled. Check this article: Enable MMI hidden green menu (2G, 3G, 3G+).

Hello Due to improper handling from the hidden menu, my MMI is blocked. ( AUDI A4 2009 on the screen, attached picture is written: BOOTLOADER Version 2.40 MMI (H43) application update Search CD Player. Since the 'bootloader' message appeared on my MMI screen and I subsequently downloaded a the '5570' update from the internet, I have inadvertently damaged the ECU that controls the MMI system. To fix this 'little' problem is now going to make me £1,050 lighter in the pocket as my local Audi dealership needs to replace the damaged ECU.
